[Important] Notice of Suspension of "Weekly Asahi"

Shukan Asahi will cease publication at the end of May 2023.

The magazine, which was first published in 1922 (Taisho 11), has received a great deal of patronage from its readers for more than 100 years as Japan's oldest general weekly magazine. I sincerely thank you.

Weekly Asahi's average circulation in December 2022 is 74,125. Our company's business performance is solid, but in the midst of shrinking sales and advertising expenses in the weekly magazine market, we have decided to focus more on the web news site AERA dot. Another of our weekly magazine AERA will strengthen cooperation with AERA dot. and strengthen branding.

Due to the suspension of publication of Weekly Asahi, new subscriptions will be discontinued.

The publication will be discontinued after the June 9 issue released on May 30, 2023 (Tuesday).

In the case of delivery from this ASA due to a subscription, etc., the final delivery date will be May 29th (Monday).
